Watches Top 10s

Smartwatch batteries: a first look

Watches have small batteries working hard on your wrist all day.

So we were curious: which ones go the distance?

These lists come from people using 3C battery apps on their watch who chose to share a little anonymous battery information.

A friendly heads-up: this is an early peek.

Far fewer watches than phones have shared data so far, so a watch can appear here once just 2 people have shared.

That’s lovely for getting started, but a single watch having a great (or not so great) day can still move things around. Take these rankings with a pinch of salt for now.

They’ll become more reliable with every watch that joins.

The lists work the same way as for phones:

  • Battery health: how much of its original capacity the battery still holds.
  • Standby and screen-on time: how long a full charge would last.
  • Slowest aging: which batteries wear out the slowest.
  • Efficiency: which watches use the least power.

Not sure which list matters to you? If you’d love to charge your watch less often, look at standby time. Use it a lot for workouts or maps? Screen-on time. Want the most from every charge? Efficiency, a bit like an A+++ energy label. Keeping your watch for years? Slowest aging. More in Which battery stats matter for you?

These models have shared battery data, but from fewer than 2 devices - too few for an average worth publishing, so none of their figures are shown. Own one? Turn on community data sharing in 3C Battery Manager or another 3C app: a device starts counting once the app has about two weeks of charge history, and each one brings its model closer to the lists above.
