3C NG Battery 0.2.7 is out for the version you download from this website. It brings one feature many of you asked for: the Wakelocks page, without root.
See what keeps your phone awake
When your battery drains while the phone sits in your pocket, it is usually an app keeping the phone awake in the background. The Wakelocks page shows which apps do it, and for how long. Until now it only worked on rooted phones. From 0.2.7 it works on any phone, after a one-time setup.
A few minutes, once
Open Settings > Help and Support > Enable the Wakelocks page, and the app walks you through it step by step:
- If you already use LADB, 3C NG Battery hands it the job, and you only need to come back to the app.
- Otherwise it uses your phone’s own Wireless debugging: switch on Developer options, turn on Wireless debugging, then type the 6-digit code Android shows you into 3C NG Battery’s notification. No computer is needed.
Once it’s done, you can turn Wireless debugging off again. The Wakelocks page stays available until you uninstall the app.
Help us get it right
This is a brand new feature, and phones don’t all behave the same way. If the setup doesn’t work on yours, please send a support request from Settings > Help and Support right after trying: it now includes a record of each setup step, which tells us exactly where it stopped.
Your watch app doesn’t need an update this time.
